On October 10, 2010 I embark on a 2 month trip to Beijing to open up THE FIRST Gap store in China. I will be part of the Beijing team in Chaobei Joy City, a large scale regional shopping center. By the end of 2010 there we will have 4 Gaps opened, 2 in Beijing and 2 in Shanghai.

1 Day before opening

Two days before opening we were in a state of panic.
A bunch of us worked the morning shift and ended up coming back for the overnight shift, which really f'ed up night before having to fly out to Hong Kong. Sadly I will not get to be there for the Soft Opening, but I know they will do great!

Here are some pictures after a long and grueling night...

  2. Lisa - we are housing 64,000 units, but I have a feeling its actually a lot more.

Backstock and pre-retailing was pretty hellish.

I'm sure it's not that much better back home :/

p.s. how are you? still a madwoman?
