Sophia, Daniel and I had brunch at Soul this afternoon.

I got the CHICKEN & WAFFLES southern- fried boneless thigh, drumette, and wing on a buttered Belgian waffle


Daniel got the OMELET “FETTUCCINE” CARBONARA eggs strips fettuccine-style in a carbonara sauce with smoked salmon


and Sophie got the TORTILLA Spanish skillet-baked omelet of chorizo, onions, peppers, and mushrooms topped with manchego cheese and french fries


We also shared a side of the French fries with garlic-herb salt & truffle oil.
Everything was delicious, especially the Fries, but the service there sucked!
Everyone seemed to be moving in slow motion and there were many mistakes.

After brunch we picked up Waters and Matt and headed to Carowinds.

Sophie and Matt went to the kiddie land and water park while the three of us rode the grown-up rides.

We rode:

then the Intimidator again

I took some pictures on my action sampler. I hope they came out ok.

SHIT: The stuff for the fibers show is due tomorrow (actually it was due yesterday) and I don't have anything for it!!! I guess I know what I will be working on tonight.

Went to Anthro yesterday and got myself a new coat for China <3


I love it! It's such a good everyday jacket and the cute little ruffles around the bottom makes it not-so-butch.

The girls there also talked me into this Dreamy Drape Dress


It's a lot cuter in person and forms to the body very well. Mine is blue and white.

I also got 2 tops that were on sale :D

That being said, I now have no money for my over-the-knee boots I've been waiting to get. Sad times.

Today was my last day at Carowinds. I put together all the outfits for Feeding Frenzy (the vampire maze) and drew some more costumes for the new Defx maze.

After work I took mom out on a "date".
We got dinner at Bistro La Bon. It was her first time there and my first time getting dinner...OMG it was sooooo delicious.
We started with the mushroom brioche tart with truffle oil and parmesan

Mom ordered the Lamb Wellington

I got the Free Range Chicken over Spinach Gnocchi and mushrooms

After dinner I took mom by Twenty-Two to see the Skate Deck Show.
Lise was there and told me that they sold my board! yay!

The show will be up for two more days before they strip it down for the Fibers show which will open on Sat. Sept. 4th...which I (and my sister) will also be in. She'll probably be showing some of her felt dolls and I'll be displaying some of my Hand in Glove stuff. Later we drove downtown to Blumenthal to see Mary Poppins!!!

It was mom's first time seeing a Broadway show and she LOVED it.
The show was wonderful and the two main kids were really good.
Mom said she couldn't understand a word of it, but the thought the sets and the lighting and the singing was excellent hahah.
I love my mama!

3 weeks and counting...

Finally started the packing process.
It's hard packing for another country especially since it will be fall/winter while I am there. I pulled out one of my wool coats and cringed because it is so damn hot and the thought of putting it on makes me sweat.
I am hoping to get a leopard print coat made while I am there so I will probably only bring this one and some hoodies/cardigans to layer with it.

Give and Get is coming up next weekend. I have been waiting and waiting to get these over-the-knee Mia boots from Piperlime to wear with my Jean Leggings this fall.


I can't wait for cooler weather. This is the first summer I've actually enjoyed the sun, but I've had my fun and now I am over it!

Going in for my second session of laser hair removal tomorrow.
I am NOT looking forward to it. My armpits felt like they were sun burned for a week after the first session.
But I will say I am addicted now. Come this time next year I will be completely bald...Love it!

Booked my flight to China

Flying out Sept. 8th from Charlotte to San Fran (5 hours) then San Fran to Shanghai (13 hours!!!) where we will all be training for a few days. Then it's off to Beijing!

I better stock up on some in-flight snacks.
